3 Types of Hoisting Equipment That All Professionals Have

No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be considered a hoisting pro without the right tools. If you want to get the job done right, done quickly, and make the right mark on your colleagues, you’ve got to invest in these three types of hoisting equipment:

1. Festooning
While most hoisting tools can come and go with you, some of your hoisting equipment has to stick around for the long haul. That’s the case with festooning.
Festooning is used to lift things up into the air and keep them up there permanently. It can come in very handy, for example, if you are working in a theater and you need to mount the lights and other various cables over the stage on a permanent basis.
But what happens if you ever need to change the set up?
Festooning equipment is completely convenient! It’s got ball bearings that slide along an aluminum track. So, you can feel free to slide things around, without taking them down and re-hoisting them.

2. A beam clamp collection
Beam clamps are as traditional as it gets. True to its name, a beam clamp grabs on to a beam, so that you can hoist it into the air, safely and securely.
But if you want to make your project run as smoothly as possible, you’ll need an entire collection of beam clamps. After all, you’ll need to be able to hoist several things into the air at once. If you only have one beam clamp, you’ll only be able to hoist one thing at a time.
Plus, you’ll need at least a couple of clamps for each beam – one to go in the middle of the beam, and one on each side for balance. That way, you won’t have to worry about heavy beams swinging around dangerously.
Bottom line – the bigger your beam clamp collection is, the better. Because they’re such a basic part of your work, you can never have too many of them!

3. Abell Howe tools
Every industry has brand names that stand apart from all the rest. In the hoisting world, Abell Howe is one of those names.
Abell Howe made a name for itself years ago manufacturing jib cranes. Today, they’ve stuck with the tool that made them famous. So, if you’re looking for a jib crane that’s been perfected over the years (and has a reputation that can’t be matched by anyone else), you know exactly where to turn.
