3 Things You’ve Got to Know about Tanning Spray Guns
In order to get the most out of your tanning spray guns, there are 3 things you need to know.
Tanning spray guns are, without a doubt, the most important spray tanning products you will ever buy. After all, they have a direct result on how everything else works!
So, before you invest in a tanning gun, there are 3 things you need to know:
1. You can get cheap — but don’t go too cheap
Tanning spray guns don’t have to cost you a fortune. In fact, just like all of the other spray tanning products out there, you’ll be able to find gun options that can meet virtually any budget.
Just make sure you don’t opt for something that’s too cheap. After all, even the best sunless tanning solution is nothing without a great gun. Your customers will literally be wearing your finished product, so you owe it to them (and to your business’ reputation) to get the best gun you can afford!
2. It needs to hold at least two ounces of sunless tanning solution
Two ounces is how much you’ll use on each customer, so most tanning spray guns are built to hold that capacity.
But why is the gun’s capacity so important?
If you have to stop and refill it halfway through each customer’s appointment, you’re wasting time. The more time you waste, the fewer customers you can see in a day — meaning the less money you can make!
Plus, your customers will appreciate having an appointment that’s run as efficiently as possible. As a result, you need a gun that can hold all of the solution you need.
3. Make sure you understand the spray pattern
Different tanning spray guns come with different spray patterns — or, the way the solution actually comes flying out of the gun. Some patterns are very narrow, while others are much wider.
If you want to work as efficiently as possible, you’ll need a gun with a wide spray pattern. However, you’ll also need the skill to be able to handle it. If your gun is too powerful for your limited experience, the odds of you ending up with expensive organic airbrush tanning solution all over the wall (instead of all over your customer’s skin!) are high!
One more thing to remember — the bigger your gun’s spray pattern, the more care you’re going to have to take for overspray. You’ll need a booth (or a pop-up tent, if you have a mobile tanning business) to protect everything around you from getting covered in organic airbrush tanning solution.
